Default longer ignore list

I know this has been posted before but I think some things should be repeated until granted. I have run into a lot of really mean people and sickos out there and there really needs to be a longer ignore list. There are too many people to report a harassment violation all the time and I just don't ever want to hear from some people ever again. Please please give me a longer list to defend myself from harassment. You don't want me reporting offenses every day wasting your time do you? Yes, I run in to at least one jerk a day, I wouldn't doubt if some were the same person I couldn't block.

Ah well, i had to find 1 of these threads and rebump it. Ressurection seems to be in today.

Come on when will it happen. I already have 10 on my ignore list and everyday i come across more and more people who are just aching to get on it. Just today in ToA i had to remove someone from the list who was a 'lesser offender' to simply shut some dumb f*ck up who was spamming All Chat. Didn't they say they'd improved the chat filter? Yet somehow he was able to do:
lol
lol
lol
lol
lol
lol
lol
lol

For a while and occasionally switch to other random things. Yeah... very improved. Now so much as mentioning WTS in a normal conversation and you get instantly filtered to the trade channel.

Humph im not against it but if you need to fill your ignore list up you have some issues that you may want to get fixed...I know there are a lot of jerks playing this game but after bieng ignored for two minutes they will never PM you again onless they are nerds...then just ignore them for 5 minutes and you should either never hear from them again...

Also, if they are spamming the local chat, then you only need to ignore them till you leave the distirct. Chances are you will never see again anyway.

What I suggest you all do is look at your ignore list, and clear out anyone who has been on it for longer than a week. If they start hassling you again, place them back on the list.

What on earth are you guys doing to have such massive ignore lists? I rarely, if ever have more than 1 person on there. If you throw someone on there for a little bit, they'll usually get the point and go away. It's a big internet out there, you probably won't see them again.

An idea to "improve" the ignore list could also be found in this thread:
Various suggestions to improve Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry

Quote:
0. Greatly Improved Ignore list (by GrendelScout1)
Refer the example for an idea of how this would work:
1. John know Mary is a leecher, AFKer
2. John adds Mary to his ignore list
3. John clicks "Enter Mission" in any random arenas
4. John will never be placed in the same team with Mary

5. Other players who did not add Mary to their ignore list could be teamed up with Mary

6. Friends of John who know and trust his judgement also place Mary in thier respective ignore lists.
7. John and his friends live happily ever after.
A longer ignore list, plus a "greatly enchanced" ignore list would definitely resolve the issue of leechers, AFKers, quiters in Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry.

Refer to the linked thread and the quoted text.
A "greatly improved" ignore list could very well solve the problem of leechers, AFKers, quiters in Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry.

At least we do not have to worry about being placed in the same with these leechers, AFKers, quiters again, ever.

I agree, I would like an ignore list that was at least larger than 10. I think one reason they don't increase the list is because lots of people would have huge lists and can you imagine the database required to hold that many names for that many players? I'm sure ANet could handle it, but there are other things they would like to use that space for.

What happens to have long ignore lists? Well, I've only been bothered by a couple of perverts who thought my Necromancer was hot and...well, you know. Most of my list consists of scammers. I may not ever meet them again, but ignoring them makes sure I don't have contact with them.

I have to agree.
I bet that none of the people in your ignore list (the OP) ever PM'ed you. If its just people scamming in local chat, why do you need to ignore them? If its someone who doesnt like you and keeps PM'ing you than yes they should be on the list, but if you need to, you can still take them out later, they probably wouldnt even notice. I have only ever had to use the ignore list once, and that was when I was leading a group, and we had 7 people and some guy was spam-PM'ing me saying "Let me in", "Let me in", "Let me in".
I put him on the list, took him out a few minutes later. Never PM'ed me again. I dont even remember his IGN anymore.
